Elevating Steve Madden’s Digital Experience Across the Globe
The Challenge
Steve Madden needed a solution that could provide governance across its 30 global eCommerce sites, across three different brands, while maintaining brand consistency. The decentralized approach of allowing local teams to manage their respective Shopify admin tools led to inconsistent brand experiences, suboptimal site performance, and the proliferation of over 260 different apps across the platform.
The Solution
RunDTC implemented a comprehensive solution that included rebuilding their global Shopify instances. This involved customizing a new theme within Shopify’s liquid architecture, tailored to meet each brands specific needs while ensuring a consistent user experience across all sites. The solution also included building the most robust Contentstack to Shopify liquid integration on the market, resulting in a new digital experience platform (DxP) to locally manage content across all brands, globally.

In collaboration with Steve Madden’s ecommerce & technology teams, RunDTC and Contentstack worked closely together to deliver a cutting-edge Digital Experience Platform (DXP) equipped with robust local content management capabilities and DevOps governance. This modern approach transformed the way Steve Madden’s Shopify sites were managed - enabling localized content management, while empowering a central team to oversee Shopify administration.
